Nanshi Food Street
南市食品街

The Tianjin Nanshi Foodstuff Street was encouraged by Tianjin government to develop in 1985. The street, situated in the busiest Heping District, connects Heping Street in downtown in the east and Hotel Street in the west. Around it, there are many shops for garments, catering, shopping and entertainment. The street.appears to be the combination of Chinese architecture culture and cooking culture and it becomes a place wellknown for its delicious foods in China. In 1989, it was listed by Tianjin government to be one of ten wellknown scenery spots in Tianjin.

The street occupies 36 mu with buildings and houses covering 40,000 square metres. All the buildings and houses are built in national style with engraved pictures on pillars and wall of houses. Its crisscross street covered with glass on the top is the main district for food enjoyment, where situated 100 catering enterprises. They provide unique Chinese foods and special Chinese catering culture. The street is decorated with granite floor. When you enter the street, you will find that it is the most comfortable place for you to enjoy all delicious Chinese foods including foods from Sichuan, Shandong, Guangdong, Hunan, Suzhou, Zhejiang, Fujian and Anhui in 200 varieties.

The street is a multi-functional catering kingdom for domestic and overseas guests. It will offer you a deep impression when you have a stay here.

Chinese leaders – President Jiang Zhemin, Vice-premier Li Peng, Qiao Shi, Zhu Rongji, Yang Shangkun, Wan Li and Peng Zhen all came here to enjoy foods here and honored it as “the first street in Tianjin gathering all flavours of China” and “All delicious foods serving friends all over the world”. When celebrating the tenth anniversary, the former Mayor of Tianjin, Li Ruihuan, now Vice-Premier offered inscription — “Gathering all flavours to entertaining friends over the world” to the street.
